As promised, the weekly “Shots of Inspiration” are full of surprises, whether highlighting inspiring stories trending on the interwebs, a story about an everyday hero or something fun and funny.
This week, we feature something sweetly entertaining. Hope you get high on this awesome story my good friend Cynthia Wang tipped off to me.
In all my years of TV reporting, I have never said this before: “Breaking news in the candy world….”
It’s literally real-life Willy Wonka meets modern-day technology. Guess what, Mom? The world’s first 3D candy printer is coming to the U.S. and will let you design and print your OWN gummies.
Today’s Shot of Inspiration is dedicated to all the candy lovers in candy land!
Who: Dylan’s Candy Bar and Katjes Fassin UK Ltd.
What: According to People Magazine, the two entities have joined forces to unveil the latest in confectionary creationism. The collaboration between Dylan’s Candy Bar, a boutique confectionery store, and the Germany company Katjes, maker of the Magic Candy Factory 3D machines, will allow customers to create personalized 3D candy.
How the heck does this happen? As People mag describes, “sort of like magic.” Customers at select Dylan’s Candy Bar locations can choose from more than “100 shapes and characters, design their own or upload a picture to be candy-fied.”
Colors, flavors and edible glitter toppings are all customizable. It takes less than five minutes for the machine to create the yummy gummy treats.
Sweet idea, no?
Melissa Snover, managing director of the Magic Candy Factory, told People, “Your imagination is the only thing that can limit what you make.”
And get this, YOU CAN EVEN MAKE GUMMY SELFIES!
Where: Dylan’s Candy Bar shops in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami.
Why: To Willy Wonkify and satisfy your sweet tooth and creativity.
There doesn’t always need to be a good reason for why, right? Just make sure to brush your beautiful white teeth afterward!
According to the Magic Candy Factory’s website, “All of the dazzling gummies which come from the Magic Candy Factory are vegan, gluten-free & dairy free. They are made with vegetable based gelling agents and all natural fruit and vegetable extracts to create something as natural as it is delicious.”
What a uniquely sweet gift!
